presented. His masterful paintings of the late
1920s – early 1930s, performed in the footsteps of
his stay in Khvalynsk and Sudak, are also known.
Painting by May Miturich.
M. Chegodayeva,
the researcher of the creative work of May Mitu-
rich, writes: “The painting works by May Miturich
create a completely different world – poetic and
light; absolutely real and fairly wonderful, free
from all the dark, morbid and mortal.
An unsteady lighting of an early morning in
the Himalayas (“A Morning in the Himalayas”,
1996) with the clouds appeared pink in the rays of
the rising sun, with a golden glistening in the val-
ley and on the side of the mountain ranges – are
stopped with a great master’s hand, perpetuated
and seem to be fallen into oblivion.
The poetic fabulousness penetrates and spiri-
tualizes the shy small branches of “AWinter Piece”
(1999) and the split-up jasmine leaves (“Two Jas-
mines”, 1993), both painted from life. In the por-
trait of L. Dilektorskaya – “A Frumpish Dress”,
a graceful figure of a woman sitting against the
background of the phantom, interweaving trunks
of the trees, wearing an immensely wide “grandma’s
dress”, spread out over the whole meadow, takes
an image of a kind of mysterious forest fairy, as if
she has appeared from those trees, silver leaves
and lace of branches. The absolutely unique one
in the creative work of M. Miturich is such a big
picture as “The Golden Age” (1996), donated by
him to Astrakhan. It depicts the three figures, as
light as air, reaching forth their arms to the white
sun and singing a hymn to it…” (M. Chegodayeva
