The tour around the museum includes detailed review of the museum exhibition display which consists of two sections.

The first section of the museum is a flat where the Khlebnikovs lived. It was the very place Khlebnikov used to come to see his parents in 1911-1919.   It includes five rooms, a corridor and a verandah: “Ancestry”, “Living-room”, “Vera’s room”, “Velimir’s room”, “The hall of Velimir Khlebnikov”, “The end of Velimir’s life”, “Khlebnikov verandah”

The second section of the museum is located in the opposite flat where the Khlebnikovs’ neighbors lived and now it is the place for the exhibition rooms (permanent exhibition display): “Vera Khlebnikova’s paintings”, “Vera Khlebnikova’s drawings”, “Petr Miturich’s drawings”, “The verandah of May Miturich”, “Drawings by S.K. Botiev”, “The museum library”.

The museum exhibition display is based on “Khlebnikov collection” donated by May Miturich-Khlebnikov, Velimir’s nephew. It includes family library, some household utensils belonged to the Khlebnikov’s family, works by Velimir published when he was still alive, his personal properties and paintings by Vera Khlebnikova, Petr Miturich and May Miturich. 

Visitors of the museum may choose either a guided tour around the exhibition display or make a tour on their own. The museum affords an I-pad as a virtual guide around the exhibition display.

Besides that, the I-pad can allow visitors of “Velimir’s room” to immerse in virtual space of the poet’s creativity. The multimedia project “Hunger of space or Velimir’s room” (the winner of grant contest “Changing museum in a changing world”, nomination “Technologies of the museum exhibition display”) is implemented here.

As soon as you reach the I-pad to the exhibit indicated in the guide-book, whether it be mathematic problem, a part of the manuscript written on the wall or something else and you will listen to Khlebnikov’s compositions sounding from the I-pad, stories about his searching for “the law of time” and watch some video based on Velimir’s works.

The given information includes images, text documents, audio- and video files. 

One of the museum rooms – “Khlebnikov verandah” – is an exhibition space where the visitors can be acquainted with temporary exhibition display (from the collection of The Astrakhan Art Gallery, The Khlebnikov museum or other museums or private collection within art-projects and contests).
